The Public Affairs Office of the Idaho Office of Emergency Management (IOEM) provides important information to the media and the public about IOEM. This effort takes place using a variety of methods including print, social media and WebEOC - the information sharing platform used by IOEM and all Idaho counties and Tribes. The Public Affairs office promotes awareness of emergency management efforts in Idaho as well as issues involving the safety of Idaho citizens. IOEM Public Affairs also coordinates emergency public information during disasters.
Public Information Officers (PIOs) are a critically important link between the organizations for whom they work and the communities they serve. PIOs are tasked with informing the public about services and programs that can affect their lives. Our mission is to provide the right information to the right people at the right time.
