Preparedness and Protection

Preparedness and Protection Branch of the Idaho Office of Emergency Management is charged to prepare, maintain, and update state disaster plans based on the principle of self help at each level of government. Coordinated emergency plans provide a mechanism for resource sharing and assistance given any type of emergency or disasters; be it natural or human caused; enemy attack, terrorism, or other hostile actions. The Branch is comprised of a variety of supporting programs to assist local, tribal and state government as well as Idaho’s citizens. Supporting programs include Hazard Mitigation, Critical Infrastructure, Individual Assistance Planning (Disaster Program), State/local Emergency Planning. The Branch also provides technical assistance through the Geographic Information System (GIS) Program and the Bureau’s emergency management coordination software, WebEOC.
