Fire management assistance is available to State, local and Tribal governments under the Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) Program. Once requested by IOEM and approved by FEMA, assistance may be provided for eligible equipment, supplies and personnel costs associated with the mitigation, management, and control of fires on publicly or privately owned forests or grasslands, which threaten such destruction as would constitute a major disaster.
