Ben Roeber serves as the Bureau Chief of the Idaho Office of Emergency Management (IOEM), where he leads the state’s emergency readiness and preparedness efforts in alignment with Idaho’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Strategies. In this role, he advises the Governor and The Adjutant General as the principal Emergency Management Advisor.
As the Governor’s Authorized Representative, Roeber is the primary point of contact for all federal, regional, and state emergency management activities. He also serves as the State Administrative Agent, overseeing the implementation and compliance of Department of Homeland Security grants to support Idaho’s emergency preparedness initiatives.
With decades of experience in emergency management and public safety, Roeber has a proven track record of coordinating disaster response efforts and strengthening statewide preparedness. Before becoming Bureau Chief, he served as the Preparedness and Protection Branch Chief at IOEM, where he managed the development and maintenance of Idaho’s disaster response plans, ensuring coordination across government agencies.
Roeber’s background in public safety includes nearly a decade as Sheriff of the Boise County Sheriff’s Office, where he led law enforcement and emergency response efforts to protect communities.
